Death of Roy Gray

-- It is with regret that we record the death of Master Roy Gray, which occurred at his home in this place, on Sunday morning. He was sick about a week with occlusion of the bowels and though the best medical skill and tender care were given him his strength was not sufficient to overcome in the batter for life and he passed away at the early age of fourteen years.

Roy and his sister, Miss Orpha, moved to this place last spring from Teeterville, so that he could go to High school. Though he attended school but a few months his gentle and studious disposition made him a favorite with pupils and teachers and with all who knew him,

The funeral took place on Tuesday from his late residence to the Teeterville cemetery, where he was laid to rest beside his parents. Mr. Wm. Gray died suddenly of heart disease in December 1893 and the mother died of consumption at Teeterville in February last, leaving only two sisters, Miss Orpha Gray and Mrs. W. Sovereen of Round Plains, who have the sympathy of the community in this another sad bereavement.

Rev. Chas. Deacon, Ph. B., conducted the funeral services.
