Tilsonburg
Wedding
Tilsonburg Observer:-- "On Wednesday afternoon the beautiful home of
Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Jackson was the scene of one of those social events
which never lose their interest. A large number of guests had
assembled from different parts of the province to witness the marriage of
Captain D. Gibson, of the Dufferin Rifles, one of the popular young men of
Brantford, to Miss Jean, the eldest daughter of Mr. W. W. Livingstone of
this town, a young lady prominent in social and church life and highly
esteemed by all her friends.
The bride, who was given away by her
father, looked charming in a gown of white brocaded silk, with pearl
trimmings and bridal vail of [Brussel] net with orange blossoms. She
was supported by Miss McMullen, of Woodstock, and Miss Florence
Livingstone, who had bouquets of beautiful pink and white roses. Captain Gibson was supported by Mr. Edward Blake Duncan, of Brantford, and
Mr. Frank Bain. The officiating clergyman was Rev. M. McGregor,
M.A., of Avondale Church, Tilsonburg. The bridal gifts were
costly and numerous.
As the bridal party took their places in the
beautifully decorated drawing room the sweet strains of the [Lohengrin]
Wedding March were played by Mrs. F. B. Tillson, who also played the [Mendelssohn] Wedding March at the close of the ceremony amid the hearty
congratulations of the company to the young pair.
Among the guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs.
Innes, Miss Innes and Mr. Robt. Innes, Miss Grace Livingstone, Miss
Mildred Jackson and Leigh Jackson of Simcoe."
