Death of Mrs. Garnett

The death occurred on Saturday, December 18, of Angelina B., relict of John Garnett, after a somewhat lengthy illness from asthma.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mrs. Anderson, and was born at Charlotteville, where she lived until 1878, when she was married to John Garnett and came to Tillsonburg, where she has resided ever since.

She was for 65 years a devout member of the Methodist church and was an active member in all its departments until failing health compelled her withdrawal.

Her husband predeceased her 22 years ago, leaving no family. The deceased was the last of a family of eleven.

The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon from her late residence to the Tillsonburg cemetery, the service being conduction by Rev. J. H. McBain. The pall bearers were John McIntyre, H. C. Hogarth, F. E. Aldrich, H. Weatherwax, C. Caulton and W. S. Scott.

Among the relatives present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. W. Price and Miss Tisdale of Simcoe, Mrs. Hammond of Port Dover, Mrs. Ribble of Port Burwell and A. Burtch of Vittoria. Mr. and Mrs. John Byerlay, Miss Ray and Miss Martha Tisdale of Courtland and Geo. Jenvey of Ingersoll were also in attendance -- Tillsonburg Liberal.

Deceased will be remembered by older residents of Simcoe as a resident of their neighborhood until her marriage. One of her sisters was the late Mrs. Jas. M. Tisdale, a life-long resident of Simcoe, and mother of Mrs. W. P. Price and Miss Hannah Tisdale, Talbot street north.
