Died in Illinois

Word has reached her friends here of the death of Miss Hattie Freeman at her late home in Rockford, Ill. Miss Freeman was born Feb. 12th, 1829, on lot 15 in the 2nd concession of Woodhouse. Her father was Ogden Freeman who died at Black Creek in 1850. Her Grandfather was Rev. Daniel Freeman. Mrs. Phoebe Ryerson, of Pt. Dover is her aunt. Miss Freeman moved to Illinois with her family in the fall of 1856. A Rockford paper in speaking of her death says: "She was a very lovable character, retired, unassuming, but pure and reliable. One who knew her intimately says:  'She has lived a beautiful life of unselfish devotion to her family and friends, and of unusual sweetness of character.'  She was quiet and unobtrusive and had been in her life all that she professed and more."
