The following transcription is from News of Norfolk: Waterford on page 2 of the 7 Dec 1916 issue of the Simcoe Reformer. [Paragraph breaks added by the transcriber]

The funeral of the late Martin Cook, aged 50 years, who died at his home here Friday, Dec. 1st, took place Monday at 10.30 a.m. 

The services were conducted by Rev. H. Caldwell and interment took place at Greenwood Cemetery.

The deceased had been downtown to the day before he passed away and when the end came he was sitting quietly in his arm chair.

The late Mr. Cook was a farmer near Villa Nova previous to his coming to Waterford three or four years ago.

The deceased is survived by a sorrowing widow and one daughter, Mrs. E. Price of Waterford, besides three sisters, Mrs. Priest of Hamilton, Mrs. Plumsteel and Miss Sarah Cook of Buffalo, and two brothers, Mr. G. Cook of Rockford and Mr. Chas. Cook of Buffalo, all of whom attended the funeral.

To these sorrowing relatives the sympathy of the community is extended.
