Residents of Norfolk County practically all their lives, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Vannatter of Frogmore, Houghton Township, will quietly mark the 62nd anniversary of their marriage on Tuesday, November 11.

Mr. Vannatter, who is 83 years of age, was born at Vienna, Bayham Township, Elgin County, moving to Kinglake with his parents when seven years of age. 

He was one of the 14 children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Vannatter, of whom one brother and three sister are still living. They are: Edwin of East Pembroke, N.Y., Mrs. Joseph Pearson of Eden, Mrs. John Franklin of Clerk [sic] Creek, and Mrs. William Chadwick of Bellingham, Wash.

Mrs. Vannatter, who is 80 years of age, was formerly Albertha Charters, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson Charters of Bealton, Townsend Township.

She had six sisters and four brothers, those still living including John Charters of Waterford, Mrs. David Kitchen of Hamilton, Mrs. Bert Granger of Windham Centre and Mrs. Leonard Gilmore of Waterford.

They were married at Hagersville on November 11, 1885, by Rev. Mr. Forman of Hagersville Methodist Church.

After residing at Jarvis and Hagersville for a short time, they were residents for eight years of Waterford, where Mr. Vannatter was section foreman on the T.H. & B. Railway.

They then resided at Langton for a short time and a number of years ago moved to their present home at Frogmore, where they have farmed.

To them were born two sons and three daughters, Mrs. Benson Smith of Waterford, Mrs. Wallace Priddle of Frogmore, Pearl who died at the age of six years, Lloyd of Waterford and Wilton of Frogmore.

Mr. and Mrs. Vannatter are both members of the United Church and Chosen Friends Lodge. Both continue to enjoy good health.
