George W. Carrow

The death of George Withrow Carrow, one of Norfolk County's oldest citizens, occurred at his home in Woodhouse Gore, No. 24 Highway South, on Wednesday, following a lengthy illness, in his 87th year.

Born in Charlotteville, he was a son of the late John Carrow and Charity Wilson. He was the last surviving member of his family.
After attending Banner School he went to work on the farm and continued to live on the family homestead until 1919, when he moved to a farm at Atherton. In 1929 he sold that farm and moved to his late home just south of town.

He was married twice, his first wife being the former Edith A. Burtch, whom he married in 1900, and who passed away in 1921. He was married again in 1924 to Annie M. Richardson of Grey County, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, John Wilton Carrow of Norwich and George Wilfred Carrow of Brantford.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 2.30 o'clock from the George W. Baldock Funeral Home. Rev. S. Edworthy of St. James United Church, of which deceased was a member, will officiate and interment will be in Salem Cemetery.
