It seems the
strangest of coincidences that these two fine citizens should be
called within a few hours of one another.
They were very close
friends.
Both were members of the Masonic Lodge, the Presbyterian
Church, and the Conservative Party. Both were lifelong residents
of the town.
Their efforts had been identified with the same
progressive movements down through the years.
During recent years
when Dr. Burt was not in good health, his friend, Hugh P. Innes,
K.C., often took him for motor rides and otherwise maintained a
keen interest in his welfare.
Their lifelong friendship was
unbroken even in death.
