Mrs. Brook

The funeral of Mrs. Brook took place from the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. H. B. Donly, on Friday afternoon last. Canon Hicks officiating.

Mrs. Brook had been in failing health for some time, having suffered, during the past year, from a number of cerebral hemorrhages. The last attack was on Friday, April 22nd, her death taking place on the Wednesday of the week following April 30th.

Decreased was the widow of the late Joseph Brook, founder of the Brook Woolen Company. She was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, and came to York State with her parents as a child.

She was married to Mr. Brook fifty years ago moving immediately afterwards to Norfolk -- in Simcoe or its immediate vicinity she resided continuously until her death. 

One of a large family of brother and sisters, two of the former and three of the latter survive. She also leaves two daughters and two sons, Mrs. A. W. Donly of Mexico City, Mrs. H. B. Donly and Messrs. Fred T. and Harry J. Brook, of Simcoe.

Among those who attended the funeral from outside were Mr. and Mrs. Tillman of New Jersey, Mrs. H. F. Book and Mrs. Nelson Hay of Listowel, Miss J. A. Ivey, of Cobourg, Mr. L. L. Barber of Essex, and Mr. Joseph Barber, of New York.
