The subject of this notice was the
youngest son of the late Thomas Anderson, of Simcoe.
He was born in the Township of
North G[u]illimbury [sic], in the County of York, within a few
miles of the town of Barrie; and at the time of his death he was 28 years
of age. Thirteen years ago he came with his family to Simcoe.
Hermon Anderson was known to many
people in and around Simcoe. For several years he was engaged in the milk
business, and was universally respected for his kindness and his
uprightness.
In July 1907 Mr. Anderson fell
from a load of hay and injured his spine. The injury was incurable and
paralysis followed. For a year and seven months he lingered, patiently
bearing pain and feebleness. He was ever cheerful, because he was
sustained by a spiritual experience that no earthy trial could disturb.
For him, the approach of death had no fear, and he triumphantly passed
away to the land where there is no sickness, leaving a mother and several
brothers and sisters, to mourn the loss of a dutiful son and a kindly
brother. The funeral was held at the family home, Simcoe, on Thursday,
March 11th, and was attended by a large company of friends. The services
were conducted by Rev. P. K. Dayfoot, of the Baptist Church and Rev. Mr.
Secord, of the Gospel Mission. The body was interred in Oakwood cemetery.
