The Late David Algeo
(Sundridge Echo)

A familiar face and form passed away on Saturday last when David Algeo died.

Death came rather suddenly at the last for, although ill with dropsy for some months, he had spent Friday afternoon sitting in the open air, as was his custom every fine day taking a keen interest in the daily doings of the town.

The deceased was born in Norfolk County, Ont., near the town of Simcoe, 79 years ago and retained until the last a strong affection for life in the "bush" the trials of which he had experienced in his early days.

Nineteen years ago he came to Sundridge from Toronto and cast his fortunes with the village.

For several years he was a member of the School Board and as a mark of respect the Public school was closed on Monday afternoon when the funeral took place from his late residence, many friends attending the simple but beautiful service of the Church of England, at which Rev. E. McKittrick officiated assisted by the choir and kind friends, then to Strong cemetery where on a beautful autumn day the mortal remains were laid at rest.

The remaining brothers John and James were away from their homes and could not reach here in time for the funeral.

The deceased leaves a widow, one son, Wilfrid, Captain of
No. 3 Company of Northern Pioneers, and one daughter,
Mrs. A. W. Behrends, of Kingsville, Illinois, to mourn his departure.
