Salaries Increased

Both Principals and Others Receive a Raise
Public School Teachers Jumped up $30.00 Each.

A special meeting of the School Board,
called by the committee of management was held last Friday night to
consider the requests for increases in salaries of public and high school
teachers,
to select new teachers for the high school and to discuss the
requirement of the public schools.
All the members were present except Mr. Marston.
The public school teachers were increased $30.00 each
and the musical director $25.00.
The salaries as increased are as follows:

A large number of
applications were received for the position of teacher of Latin, history
and art in the high school. The board's choice was Miss Hilda Smith or
Toronto, formerly of Caledonia. William C. Coles of Barrie was appointed
mathematical master.
Two additional teachers are required for the public
schools and the committee was authorized to advertise for these and make
selections from the applications.
Mr. Haddow, caretaker of the public school, had his
salary increased to $45 a month.
