Prohibition Meeting
The
annual meeting of the Waterford and Townsend Prohibition League was held
in the Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon and evening of last week.

Resolved
-- That in the opinion of this meeting Waterford should prohibit the
liquor traffic within its bounds and we hereby call upon the Village
council to submit a By-law to a vote of the electors prohibiting the
sale of intoxicating drinks as provided for by the Local Option Law.

A
number of earnest temperance men were present from Windham and
arrangements were made to canvas that township and organize a league
similar to the one here.
The
choir of the church, assisted by Mrs. James, Mrs. Smith and Messrs.
Savage and Hadden rendered appropriate music.
