Norfolk got about a foot of snow 26 Dec 2001 (photo below), and an ice storm knocked out
power to much of the County for 36 hours at the end of Feb 2002. But overall
the winter of 2001-2002 set a record for a lack of snow. Most days seemed
more like spring or fall. It wasn't even that cold. (See 10 Dec 2002 photo
further below.) So after weeks
of almost continuous shirtsleeve weather and flowers beginning to
bloom, the weather in this 5 Apr 2002 photo (above) was a surprise.
